What are we focusing on this month? Well, things are out of control in the garden. The warm weather has brought with it a multitude of weeds, and unfortunately, pulling them is the only REAL solution. Yes, you could add more ground cover, etc., which takes up space, leaving less earth for weeds to grow into. You could also mix up some vinegar and spray those pesky things, but they will shrivel up and turn brown, not completely getting rid of them. Mulching can be good in certain areas, but my tried-and-tested method is pulling them and trying to plant something in its place.
If you have a lot of grasses in your yard, I suggest cutting them back, as new growth is already on the way, and you don’t want to have to avoid that. Some shrubs, such as Oak Leaf Hydrangeas, roses, etc., can wait...
Now is a good time to figure out design work and schedule jobs. Fun, fun, fun...
